Helping women become strong partners and confident parents.

Life at home isnt what you expected. What if you could find more internal stability?

You dreamed about what your life would look like as an adult. Finding a partner, having your own family, and the types of friendships and community you’d have.

Now you’re married, or moving toward marriage. Maybe you’re expecting or have young children. Perhaps you moved recently. On the surface things are going well, but inside you’re feeling frustrated, reactive, and hopeless that things can change.

  • You don’t feel heard or understood by your partner

  • When it comes to your kids, you sound just like your parents on their worst day

  • It feels like you don’t have enough support from family and friends

You can feel more satisfied and less reactive.

When we learn to disconnect from our emotional pain we recreate it with the people closest to us

Even if you didn’t come from a particularly challenging background, being in a committed relationship and starting your own family re-stimulates difficult feelings from your childhood. As a child you may have internalized unhealthy ways of coping that you saw around you. Or perhaps you got the message that your emotional experiences were unimportant or inconvenient in your family. Maybe you pushed away bad feelings in order to maintain good feelings about the adults you were dependent on. Restricting your emotional world leads to doubting your entire being. Through weekly therapy you can slowly and safely reconnect to your early experiences from an adult perspective, and rebuild your faith in yourself.

For over fifteen years I’ve helped women traverse the highs and lows of partnership, parenting, family, and friendship. When you carve out time to figure out how you actually feel around the people you love, you’re able to interact with intention and clarity. Feeling secure in your own feelings helps you become less preoccupied by your internal state, and more emotionally available to others. With emotional awareness, you are better positioned to express your needs effectively, and find relief from disappointment, worry, and rumination about life at home and in your social circles. You can have more positive feelings about loved ones, and feel more like the good partner and parent you are

  • Sometimes during treatment it becomes clear that partners or children have their own struggles, making it difficult to shift things at home. In these cases I will refer you to a couples or child therapist to complement our work.
